Parents New to CP - Helpful Tips for Getting Started

Are you new to Baseball or Softball at CP?  Here are some helpful tips for getting started at CP.

What equipment do I need?  At minimum, players should have cleats (or sneakers) and a glove.  The league will provide helmets, catchers gear, and bats to share across teams as well.  The high majority of players do have their own helmets and even bats.  If you need to purchase any equipment, there are coupons on the Sponsorships page to Dicks Sporting Goods, and other local vendors give CP discounts as well.

Raffle Tickets - what are they for?  When you registered your child, you PREPAID for $20 worth of raffle tickets (10 tickets at $2 each).  You can sell these to recoup the $20.  All raffle ticket stubs need to be turned in by league day on May 1st when the drawings will take place.

Picture Day - For 2021, pictures will take place on April 24th (tentative).  Times will be assigned shortly and you will be notified of this by your coaches.

League Day - TBD for 2021

Travel Baseball - Travel baseball is in addition to the rec league, and typically runs thru the end of July.  We have teams at the U8-U12 levels (typically 2 at each), and is a higher level of competition.  There is an additional charge for playing, and the amount varies by team/age.  There will be a U7 summer development program as well.

New Bat Regulations

The below link will show you a list of the USA approved bats for the 2018 season.

When purchasing a bat, please be sure it has a USA Baseball logo somewhere on the bat. They are usually near the handle.

If you are uncertain about your current bat being legal, please check the BBCOR/BPF label.  If it says 1.15, it is NOT LEGAL and cannot be used in 2018.  CP will be releasing more details in the coming weeks.  https://www.usabat.com/
